In recent months, I’ve noticed a significant increase in the number of calls I receive from outside vendors. These are companies trying to pitch the latest tools, services, and platforms aimed at real estate professionals. If you’re in the industry, chances are you’ve experienced this too. The calls are frequent, and the promises often sound too good to ignore.

However, there’s a reason behind this surge. Real estate professionals have developed a reputation for being “squirrels” for constantly searching for the next big thing. As a result, more vendors are creating products specifically to sell to agents, knowing that many are willing to try anything that claims to offer a competitive edge.

The more visible and successful you become, the more often your name lands on vendor lists. The offers will increase, and so will the pressure to keep up with the latest tools. However, chasing every new idea is not a sustainable business strategy. It’s distracting and expensive.

My advice is simple: stick with what works. You don’t need to test every product that comes your way. Focus on three core strategies that deliver real results, and keep your business aligned with those. When agents constantly switch tools and systems, they lose focus and often see minimal return.

I receive at least five of these calls each week. Many of them promise quick success or automated solutions, but very few offer long-term value. I’ve seen agents spend large amounts of money on unproven tools, only to find that they don’t generate enough return to justify the cost.

To stay on track financially, your investments should offer a return of at least three to five times what you spend. If they don’t, it’s time to reassess. Being smart with your spending matters more than ever in today’s market.
